The most important technical parameter of a receiver – its volume and pressure. It depends on two factors – efficiencies of a piston compressor, and also on nature of its airconsumption. Thereof one compressor of this or that type can be completed with several receivers of various volume.

The professional piston compressors with the belting drive in double-cylinder singlestage installations and efficiency from 250 l/min applied in construction demand installation of one or several receivers from 25 to 200 liters. The production compressors used in mechanical engineering of a power engineering and chemical branch with efficiency from 330 to 850 l/min assume installation of a receiver from 100 to 500 liters.

The systems of airdelivery intended for receiving compressed air and delivery to his consumers are widely applied in various industries. Important part of such system is the air collector. Otherwise it is called still a receiver. Receivers any volume from the producer.

The air collector represents capacity with compressed air which can be applied, for example, for equalization of pressure of compressed air at its giving to the compressor – otherwise compressed air can cause a pulsation which negatively affects work of inventory. Also receivers can be applied to storage of noble gases (nitrogen, argon etc.), to condensate drainage etc. There are two main types of air collectors – horizontal and vertical.
